Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 27, 2026.
This policy explains what information goldsteinco.net collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to goldsteinco.net and its pages, including the Waterfall calculators and forms.
Who runs this site
This site is operated by Hans Goldstein ("we," "us"). Insurance products are offered through Goldstein & Co. LLC dba Goldstein Insurance Services. Tax education is published as Hans Goldstein: Tax & Exit Planning. Contact: [email protected], 213-340-2018.
What we collect
- Information you give us in a form, email, call or text. Depending on the form: your name, email address, phone number, when you plan to sell, your role (for example seller, CPA or broker), and anything you write in a message.
- Calculator results, only if you submit them. The calculators run in your browser, and the numbers you type stay there. If you submit the results form, we receive your calculator inputs (such as sale price, income, state, age and losses), your result tier and summary figures, and the page address, together with your contact information.
- Google Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects information about your visit: pages viewed, time on page, calculator slides viewed, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, approximate location, and an IP address. Google collects this information about your activity on this site, and may collect it over time across other websites that use Google services.
- Contact-link cookie. The site sets its own first-party cookie (and a matching browser storage entry) named gco_attr that records the first page you landed on, the site that referred you, any campaign tags in the link, and which call or text link you clicked, so we know which page a caller came from; it holds no name, phone number or email address and expires after 180 days.
- Server logs. Our web host automatically records standard request data, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time.
How we use it
- To respond to you and to send the results, book or other materials you asked for.
- To follow up with you about your results and about our insurance and tax-education services, by email, phone or text, as you agreed when you submitted the form. Hans Goldstein, a licensed insurance agent (CA Insurance License #4273294), may discuss insurance products, including annuities.
- To understand how the site is used and to improve it, and to keep it secure.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate our systems for us: email, phone and text messaging, CRM and scheduling, website hosting, and analytics (Google Analytics). They may use it only to provide their services to us.
- Your own advisers, such as your CPA or attorney, when you ask us to.
- An insurance company, if you choose to apply for a policy. The insurer will also give you its own privacy notice.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with any third party for its own marketing.
Text messages (SMS)
If you opt in to text messages from Goldstein & Co., message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent to texts is not a condition of any purchase. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. This site does not currently change how it operates in response to that signal; Google Analytics runs the same way whether or not it is sent. You can limit Google Analytics by blocking cookies in your browser or by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Google's own practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your choices: access, correction, deletion and opt-out
- To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it, for example records of insurance transactions.
- To stop emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email or email us.
- To stop texts, reply STOP to any text.
- To stop calls, tell us on the call or email us.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep contact and results information for as long as needed to respond to you and follow up, and longer only where the law requires it. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will also notify you by email where we have your address.
